aLgorithm Creative Conference: Supernatural creativity
I listened to 6 creative legends, including ID Cabasa and Kemi 'Lala' Akindoju, virtually for 7 hours; here are the biggest lessons they shared.
Hello, dear readers and friends,
We all know the story of the Pool of Bethesda and how the angel would come to stir it once in a blue moon, and the first set of people to jump in received their miracle. Then the rest have to wait until another time of stirring.
This year has been marked to be such a year—a year of prophetic stirring. Whoever takes advantage of the year is bound to experience an unusual breakthrough.
To be properly positioned to maximize the year, I attended a creative conference on January 13th, hosted by Celebration Church International and these were the biggest lessons shared.
ID Cabasa (Music producer)
Abundance could be a distraction from creativity. In the beginning, the earth was synonymous with being ‘broke’. This provoked God to action. Therefore, minimalism, or scarcity, can spur creativity.
You are called to be the light in a dark world, not to dwell perpetually among the light. The church is a nursery where our faith is strengthened. Our faith finds fulfilment when we have been planted in the forest and are meant to serve the world.
The true skill of depth is simplifying complex knowledge into relatable and simple terms for your audience to enjoy. Raw foods don't taste good.
As you get into the industry, be careful not to confuse what you don't like with what is wrong.
You must learn the pathways to find a place in the industry. Don't just start; find a channel (a person or an initiative) that can introduce you.
You can listen to his latest podcast, With the Honest Bunch here
Akin Akinpelu (Leadership coach and a member of the Forbes Council)
To thrive among wolves, we must learn to be the sheep in the wolf's clothing.
In a bid to escape the trap of promoting the agenda of the devil in the world of creatives, we must realize that the devil is a trickster and a master of mischief.
However, we have a super wisdom, that of the Spirit, that can outsmart the devil and all his disguises.
We are entering the creative industry so that we can get to the upper echelon. This gives us the ability to influence policies in favour of the gospel.
You can read his books. Stay in your process, The 7 Star Teacher etc.
Mr. Wols (Music director and producer).
There is always a way to gain mastery.
Shu ha ri, the Japanese path to mastery, is where you go from following the rules wholeheartedly to breaking the rules to being a master of the rule, having the right and ability to configure or even abandon the rule if needed.
In your creative process, be able to work from rest, look for a faster and more effective method, and break the rules.
Push around your routine; don't be static.
Creativity is the ability to see more than meets the eye in anything.
Perfection is not the aim, but growth.
Lala Akindoju (Actor, casting director, and producer)
The secret to kingdom success is having a genuine relationship with the Holy Spirit.
Our stand with Christ is our advantage in the industry. This is not an opportunity for entitlement.
Be excellent or a disgrace to the kingdom.
Start by influencing up-and-coming creatives before reaching out to the greats.
Always go the extra mile.

Iren Emmanuel (Lead Pastor of Celebration Church and a singer, songwriter, and movie producer)
Theological imbalance makes us mistake the foundation of a doctrine for the instruction the doctrine enforces.
The idea of being filled with the Spirit of God can limit a believer to thinking he or she finds expression only in religious activities.
Have a boundless perspective on the expression of the Spirit.
To tap into supernatural creativity, learn to copy, discover the greatest in your field, and recognize creative patterns in your field.
Be a perfectionist.
Rebel, force yourself out.
Know the right time, the right place, and the right method (volume) to produce content.
Formal education is becoming obsolete; start working towards upskilling.

The best place to start excellent service is to feature in your church workforce.
Give your best at every instance; you are doing rehearsals for the spotlight.
We are in a decade when the culture is malleable and can be reshaped.
When an atheist would use a finger to lift a bottle, a Christian would expand the strength of a tractor to do the same thing. That is, with our Holy Spirit, we can do bigger things. Unfortunately, we are doing less.
Confusion is not ignorance; an ignorant person does not know what to do. A confused person knows more than he should.

This is the year for all Christian creatives who will take their craft more seriously.
Will you?
